Default Rune Questions

I have seen people auctioning off things like

Example:
Tribal Blade of Lighting ( or something of that sort not that exact one but..)

Now here are my questions:

Where do you find special swords and stuff like that.

What all items can you collect?

Can you take something off of one weapon and place it on another?

What are these called?

How do you know it is a Rune?

__________________________________________________ _______________

I know the color things:

White- Normal
ext.

But what good is that? What do they do? Is that what a Rune is?

If there is a link to all of these questions please quote me and post link underneath each one. I would greatly appreciate it. Or if you can just simple explain it.

as you advance in the game better and more rare items will drop. Yes there is a small chance you can take one of these magic stats and put them on a new wep of the same type. Simply use an Expert Salvage kit.

as you advance in the game, items will drop. there isn't just one place or one creatures that drop it most, i use to think it was, but it's all random drops. as you advance you'll get items.

Its random, the higher you go, the more that will be available.

What all items can you collect?

Weapons, crafting materials, collection items ( can also be salvaged), salvage items, weapon components ( expertly salvaged from a weapon), or runes ( expertly salvaged from blue or higher salavage items after identified),

Can you take something off of one weapon and place it on another?

if your weapon has a modifirer ( either prefix or suffix... like EBON Spiked Axe of FORTITUDE). The caps words are the modifiers. Use an expert salvage kit on these to have a chance for one of the parts that gave it that modifire. After you get it, you can apply it to weapons of the same type by double clicking.

What are these called?

Weapon Components.

How do you know it is a Rune?

If its an identifiable salvage item ( meaning its blue, purple, or gold), when you ID it, it will say you unlocked that rune for your PvP characters. It tells you what the rune is as well, like Charr armor of minor Hammer Mastery. If you use an expert salvage kit on it, you have a chance ( not 100% but pretty good chance) to get that rune. The rune can then be applied to your armor, if it fits your profession.

I think you mean etc?
there are white, blue, purple, and gold

But what good is that? What do they do? Is that what a Rune is?

It means they have special attributes. Identify it to see. An example would be +10% dmg while hexed. Or Precious ( sells for more to the NPC).

PvP characters cant enter explorable areas or towns. They can only have them unlocked and can only take advantage during creation ( or being given to them by another character).

All PvP characters can do is PvP.
